Designer and Project Manager
Within the team, Siena’s personal adages ring true to those work with her:
1. Always look for an adventure on the path less traveled.
2. Life is short, enjoy the moment and laugh while you learn.
As Workbench’s earliest employee, her deft hand and thoughtful approach were critical in organizing the operations of the architecture division of a growing firm. After working in residential design for the bulk of her career, her next professional goal is to pass the CSE.
Describing herself as a motivated, happy problem-solver, Siena is also a wife and mother to two strong-willed, compassionate kids.
On choosing a career in Architecture
I choose a career in Architecture because I am an artist who is grounded in reality. What has kept me excited and engaged over time are the social aspects of this profession: professional collaboration and personal client connections that enable me to design for the built environment in a way that enhances people’s lives.
Why I love Santa Cruz
The fresh air and the supportive community.
Outside of Workbench
You can find me at the beach, my daughter’s softball games or soccer practice, gardening in my yard and riding my bike. Practicing yoga and meditation. Laughing with family and friends. Baking something yummy treat with no processed sugar. Reading bedtime stories and preparing lunches for kids school. Working on a personal design/building project.
I regularly read Architect magazine and Becoming the Parent you want to be. My day ends with writing in my journal reflecting on the past day/weeks/months and planning/dreaming about the future. This helps me to be present during the day.
