A large central courtyard enclosed by operable screens allows the public to enter deep within the site to utilize public seating and gathering spaces that support the commercial spaces along the frontage. Planting and greenery supplement the built-in benches and pull elements of nature deep into the protected spaces. Building overhangs and bridges create areas for dining spill-out that is protected from the elements. Effective lighting elements create an inviting nighttime atmosphere.
Prioritizing connection to nature in an urban housing tower necessitates innovation in creating ample outdoor space. A terracing and stepping building form creates a visually appealing building mass while also generating opportunities for roof terraces with planting and greenery as well as spaces to gather, work, or engage with nature privately.
