Matt Van Wagenen
Construction Project Manager
Born and raised right here in Santa Cruz, Matt spent the first part of his career working in Civil and Marine construction in Southern California, eventually feeling the pull back to his hometown and deciding to bring his large-scale construction experience to Workbench.
Focused and dedicated in all he does, Matt enjoys hard work and problem-solving. Building relationships with clients and local sub-contractors and trades is one of his favorite parts of the job. A self-described outdoor addict and always up for a new challenge, Matt fills his weekends with scuba diving, skydiving, hiking, rock climbing, and beach volleyball (just as a start!).

I love Santa Cruz for its natural beauty and its endless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.
Outside of Workbench
On the weekends, you’ll find me at the climbing gym, trail running in the Santa Cruz mountains, or scuba diving in Monterey.
