Two modern single family homes, within walking distance of Santa Cruz’s world-renowned waves. Workbench designed each home to make efficient use of a compact site, providing comfortable and light-filled living spaces with crisp clean lines and livable maintenance exteriors.

This gem of a double lot just blocks from the beach was elevated to two modern homes with decks, views. These thoughtful designs created significant value from limited land allowing the owner to accomplish a long lasting upgrade.

Durable surfaces, materials, and hardware were chosen that can stand up to coastal elements and family life. Pin code gates and outdoor showers allow for rinsing salt and sand while maintaining privacy.

Spaces were designed to be open, light, and bright creating living spaces that flow casually from inside to outside and the neighborhood beyond.

Clever space saving details
